Janet’s background in professional dance over 20 years ago led her to a career in the fitness industry. Her body was burning out and injuries were becoming more and more frequent. She had heard about the benefits of Pilates and how great it is for injury rehabilitation as well as preventing injuries, so she decided to give it a go. About 15 years ago she attended her first Pilates class and it changed her life!
Janet fell in love with Pilates so much that she took her teacher training 10 years ago and opened Sunderland Pilates Studio shortly after. With a great team of instructors, her studio has grown and grown. They specialise in Pilates mat work as well as Pilates Reformer (machines created by Joseph Pilates). Her classes have a strong focus on strengthening the core and stabilising the muscles, as well as stretching tight muscles and releasing tension.
